Easy Ways To Spruce Up Your Bathroom

Other than the kitchen, the bathroom can be one of the more challenging spaces in the home to remodel. Still, with the bathroom being one of the spots in your home that your guests are likely to see, you want it to look nice. Fortunately, there are some easy ways to spruce up your bathroom without reworking all your plumbing.

Get Organized

Even the cleanest bathroom will feel dirtier and thus less inviting if it’s not organized. Toothbrushes, towels, makeup, and lotion crowded into spaces throughout your bathroom contribute to this chaos. If multiple people are sharing a bathroom, give everyone their own basket or bin in which to put their things to cut the chaos and add to the room’s aesthetic. Adding hanging shelves can also spread out some of the products and give you space for accessories.

Work with Your Tile

One of the things that makes bathrooms such tricky spaces to remodel is the fact that you can’t easily change them. This can be especially challenging if the tile you inherited isn’t exactly elegant. Instead of spending gobs of money to replace the tile, you can find ways to work with it—even if it’s a garish color. First, look to clean out the grout to make the tile look new. Then, incorporate the colors of your tile in window or shower curtains, art pieces, or accessories to turn your tile into a bold statement. If you’re working with a bright or undesirable tile color, you can choose a bold interior eggshell paint for your wall color that will highlight the tile—or a neutral color to balance it.

Bring in Plants

We often think of adding plants to our kitchens, dining rooms, and foyers to make guests feel welcome, but we don’t always think of adding a small vase of flowers in the bathroom. Flowers not only add a cheerful splash of color, but also make any room feel fresher and more put-together. You can also add potted plants such as succulents and small palm trees to give your bathroom the look of a luxurious spa oasis.

Add Accessories and Accents

Little details go a long way toward tying a room together, and getting your details right is possibly the easiest way to spruce up your bathroom. This includes throw towels, floor mats, soap dishes, and art pieces. You can use these pieces as bright pops of color or patterns in your space or as ways to weave a color theme throughout the room.
