How to Find LEED Certified Architects

ECOS 10/28/2015
According to the US Green Building Council (USGBC), "this year it is estimated that 40-48 percent of new nonresidential construction will be green, and 62 percent of firms building new single-family homes report that they are doing more than 15 percent of their projects green. By 2018, that percentage increases to 84 percent." Clearly, green building isn't just a passing phase – it will likely be the status quo in the not so distant future.  LEED, or Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design, is a green building certification program managed by the USGBC that recognizes best-in-class green buildings and architects can train to get LEED accredited. Interested in working with one? Here's how to find LEED certified architects.
  1. Refer to the USGBC. As the primary driver of the program, the USGBC website is also a portal of valuable information, including where to find LEED accredited professionals.
  2. Check the Green Home Guide. Another resource from the USGBC, the Green Home Guide has a list of green architects that are searchable by zipcode.
